Walmart Heirs Buy Land in Bella Vista for Development
According to Axios, a company owned by Steuart and Tom Walton paid $15.49M for 1,941 acres in north Bella Vista west of I-49 near the Missouri & Arkansas state line.
Company officials for West BV LLC stated they are currently conducting an infrastructure study in the area expected to be completed in early 2025. No official plans for development have been shared. The company has said they expect to focus on outdoor recreation, hospitality and retail investments.
Local speculation is the Walton heirs plan to transform Bella Vista into an Aspen for Mountain Biking.
Bentonville is currently marketed as the mountain bike capital of the world and home to new Walmart Headquarters 350 acre campus. Northwest Arkansas’ population is growing 2.3% per year and an estimated 36 people move here per day.
The average home price in Bella Vista is much lower than Bentonville which is experiencing an explosion of growth. Bella Vista has become a destination for home buyers and investors.
