According to Axios, a company owned by Steuart and Tom Walton  paid $15.49M for 1,941 acres in north Bella Vista west of I-49 near the Missouri/Arkansas state line.

Company officials for West BV LLC stated they are currently conducting an infrastructure study in the area that is expected to be completed in early 2025. No official plans for development have been shared. The company has said they expect to focus on outdoor recreation, hospitality and retail investments.

Local speculation is the Walton heirs plan to transform Bella Vista into a sort of Aspen for Mountain Biking.
